Why Daisy Chain

Daisy Chain Hair Est 2002 is a small family run hair salon located in Clayfield. They provide premier service at excellent prices, valuing client relationships.

Here at Daisy Chain we have a passion for Hair, Customer Service and an ethos of really listening to you 'the client'. This vision for the business and our client relationships that have grown as a result, were driven by the business founder June. Having taken over the business from her mother in 2020, Hayley has a vision for continuing the traditions of Daisy Chain Hair whilst driving the business into the future.

Daisy Chain Hair offers clients a very professional yet welcoming atmosphere from the moment you enter the door. The skills and services provided by our Stylists are second-to-none, but the vibe is welcoming and comforting, like catching up with an old friend.

Our clients often comment how comfortable they feel in the presence of not only their stylist and supporting team but also those sitting around them. Every service is offered, and every need met, with a smile and a genuine interaction.

We look forward to welcoming you to our space.

Meet Hayley

in another life i'm pretty sure I was a hippie born in the 60's...

Hayley has been in the business for over 17 years, taking over Daisy Chain from her mother June in 2020 after working collaboratively with June for a significant time. As a senior stylist Hayley is consistently following the trends and staying current with new technics. She loves what she does and you can see the passion in the client results. “The best thing about being a hairdresser is the smile on people’s face when you have nailed their hair”.

Hayley’s favourite hair trend is Balayage and lived in colour as well as curtain bangs and any day of the week her product recommendation is ‘Juuce Halo Spray’.

When Hayley is not at the salon she is spending time with her son, family & friends, tending to her garden or cooking in her kitchen.

The best piece of advice she has ever received was from her dad, “all your child wants is your love.”

Meet Melissa

In another life I'm pretty sure i was a beach bum...

Melissa started her hairdressing journey 32 years ago. She focused on raising her family mid way through her career but couldn’t stay away from all that hairdressing brings. “The people you meet and the relationships you form with your clients” bring that extra something special to her life.

Melissa’s favourite hair trend was ‘The Rachel Haircut from Friends” and she cannot get enough of the ‘Pure Bond Repair Treatment’.

When not in the salon Melissa is out in the arts scene, lunching with friends and enjoying musicals and shows or getting her endorphins at Pilates.

The best piece of advice she has ever received was “you are responsible for your own happiness!”

Meet Janelle

In another life I'm pretty sure i was me, there is only one me...

Janelle found her home in hairdressing 4 years ago. Currently in her final year of her Hairdressing apprenticeship there is not much she can’t do and she relishes the challenges and new skills her apprenticeship has afforded. Janelle loves the confidence that good hair brings to people “I love seeing the confidence in client’s once they have had their hair done.”

Janelle’s favourite hair trend is waves with bangs and her favourite Daisy Chain product is ‘Milkshake Volumizer Spray’.

When not in the salon, Janelle is taking soulful walks, reading a good book or perhaps even writing one.

The best piece of advice she has ever received was to “never think you are better than anyone else because you’re not!”

Meet Chloe

in another life i'm pretty sure i was a dog, because they can be calming and playful and fun...

Chloe is our newest addition and has been with Daisy Chain Hair and in the hairdressing industry for a year. She is excited to learn from those around her and is quickly gaining the skills to be an excellent hairdresser. Chloe enjoys the variety that hairdressing brings, no two heads are the same. “ The best thing about being a hairdresser is that you can work on so many hair types, I enjoy that.”

Chloe’s favourite hair trend is the slick back bun, and she loves the 'Milkshake Leave In Conditioner', it smells amazing like caramel and makes hair feel so silky.

When away from the salon you will find Chloe creating dishes in the kitchen, enjoying a good book and hanging out with family and friends.

The best piece of advice she has ever received was to “to give everything 100%”

June Lavell

Our founder - June

in another life i'm pretty sure i was mary poppins, i love children...

June started Daisy Chain in 2002 after migrating to Australia from England and raising her daughters. Having worked for other salons initially she saw an opportunity in North Brisbane to create a community based salon. Daisy Chain Hair was born from a love of the country, with sunshine, warmth and providing that friendly atmosphere to all who walked through the door.

June's favourite hair trend of all time was the short pixie 'twiggy' of the 60's.

June was a born hairdresser, who loves the creativity it brings and seeing the transformation and joy it brings, she retired in 2020 with over 50 years of Hairdressing experience under her belt.

If you're lucky you might catch her in the salon now again but these days she's focused on the grandchildren, and crafting for her handmade stall "where fairies live" which she operates out of Vend Marketplace.

We thank June for creating this wonderful space for all who now leave with amazing hair and that warm fuzzy feeling.
